PROJECT KNOWLEDGE- Day 40

Day 40: Madison, IN and The Riverrun Theatre Company en route to Chicago, IL

Today, we reluctantly bid adieu to The Millers who so graciously took care of us while we were in Cincinnati. Alas, we had to get on the road to Madison, Indiana for an 11:00 a.m. meeting with David Loehr, co-founder and artist in residence of the Riverrun Theatre Company and one of the ringleaders of www.2amtheatre.com .

David contacted us to see if he could take part in our nation-wide dialogue, as we have already met/are meeting with other members of the 2amtheatre group: Scott Walters , Chris Ashworth and Nick Keenan. Flattered by the invitation, we had to make a stop on our way to Chicago to learn more about what's happening in Madison.

David shared with us that 2am grew from an idle conversation late one night into a group of like-minded theatre artists. In just two months, they went from a random collection of tweets (#2amt) to being part of the national conversation about the "Outrageous Fortune" study (co-authored by Todd London who we met with at New Dramatists in New York.) We were also able see the Riverrun theatre space and a Riverrun sponsored improv troupe that performed for us at the local farmer's market! David is doing amazing work in the beautiful community of Madison. We look forward to seeing the growth of his company in the exciting years to come! After a great time, and great conversation, we got on the road for our long drive to Chicago!
